He’s right, of course; no matter how much the fans know what it is, they’ll suck it up and go, if for nothing else than to glean another crumb of the Halo mythos.

The comic is also dead-on.  We’ve used the “drink your ovaltine” line in ARG circles for quite a while, as a disparaging term for a puzzle that has a big set-up, requires a lot of work and then has a very small or no pay-off for the player.   Bungie should take heed.

Of course, this ARG is not directed at the players who inhabit unfiction or any other ARG forum.  And speaking for myself, the only thing that would drag me back into Master Chief’s world is if Sean Stewart wrote a novel about it.
